Gan, I have noticed that your approach to opening doors is slightly different to Vila's. Do you think it is a better approach?

Gan says:
Well obviously I like Vila very much, but I do think that brute force is what is required in most situations. For example, Vila and Avon wouldn't have got the decoder from Centero if it wasn't for me. Avon thinks he's clever but could he get that decoder? No! Also he couldn't stop me damaging the Liberator when I was suffering from my limiter could he? And always remember it was me who broke down that door when we were trapped on Earth. I'm a bit worried about what they will do without me actually...

Q: Gan I thought you were dead. What happened?

A: Well I was a bit upset when Blake left me. I sort of froze and blanked out. He thought I'd snuffed it! It was only a very thin door for goodness sake! And Travis just ignored me as well. I think he said something like "Move this stinking carcass out of my way".

Q: So what do you think about the latest news then? That Avon's got a new ship and snarls a lot these days?

A: Well I must admit I was a bit upset that Avon took over. He can be quite a bully and I certainly wouldn't put up with his moods which seem to be getting worse these days. In actual fact I'm still in contact with Vila via Scorpio email. I've told him to keep the fact that I'm alive a secret. Not that Avon would care really. Vila was very annoyed last week because he said Avon had tried to kill him. Avon's now gone off to Betafarl with Tarrant - who knows why.

Q: Are you a psychopath who had a limiter put in to stop your killing impulses or are you a gentle giant who just snapped once?

A: UUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Limiter!!!! I.... can't...... AAAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!!!! HELP ME!!!

Q: Sorry. What have you been up to since Blake left you?

A: Well I started by pretending to be a Federation guard and helped the others move the rubble that Travis had made. We were virtually buried alive! I made some good friends because I was the one who moved most of the rubble.

Q: So you helped Servalan and Travis to escape?

A: Well I had to really or I would have died in there with them. I tried to strangle Servalan from behind her back, but my limiter kicked in, I grunted a lot and pulled some silly faces. The others just thought I had pulled a muscle moving some of the rubble.

Q: And what happened after that?

A: Well I just became a rescue worker who helps people trapped beneath rocks. Basically went to any place that had suffered from an earthquake. After Star One was destroyed you see the Federation's power waned a bit. We were allowed "outside" to help clear up the mess. In actual fact I thought I would fight the aliens in the Intergalactic war, but they said I was thick and useless.

Q: Did this upset you?

A: Well I pulled some silly faces but then just went back to shifting rubble.

Q: Aren't you concerned that people will kill you for having been on the Liberator and supported Blake?

A: Oh no. People always recognise me, but they just laugh about the fact that Blake thought I was dead and say I was useless anyway. The other day Servalan saw me, and she just pointed her finger at me, said "Look at that big ape! Only Blake would have let him on the ship, certainly not my gorgeous Avon!"

Q: And how did this make you feel?

A: Limited.
